    Yapp Poi Chee was born and raised in Brunei Darussalam. After completed her college education in 2006, Poichee worked as a secondary art teacher in Brunei Darussalam for 2 years before pursuing her art education in Singapore. She was awarded the Singapore MOE Tuition Grant to further her studies at LASALLE College of the Arts in August 2008. After completed her diploma studies, she received the Scholarship Award for Bachelor of Arts Program by the college to continue her art education.
