Halimah Kyrgios

Halimah Kyrgios from Canberra, Australia, has been performing from the age of five, beginning her interest in musical theatre after performing in her first musical Carousel. Halimah received a scholarship to complete her senior schooling at McDonald Performing Arts College in Sydney. Furthering her dance skills, she trained at ED5 International in Sydney. Career highlights include tapping aside original tap dog Nathan Sheens in Tapworks; performing in the 2006 Australian Dance Awards; in the company Beats Per Minute; Universal Studios Singapore world wide TV launch as a showgirl; and recording several backing vocals for shows such as Voyage de la Vie. Upon graduation, she is heading to New York to further her training at the Broadway Dance Centre and to audition for a role on the Broadway stages.
Kristy Griffin

Kristy is from Queanbeyan, Australia, and began dancing at the age of three. Over the past 19 years she has studied many different styles of dance including tap, jazz, RAD ballet, contemporary, Irish dance and Latin ballroom. In 2007, Kristy completed a Diploma in Performing Arts at Brent Street Performing Arts Studio, Australia’s premiere commercial dance studio. She has taught dance in schools and has worked as a choreographer for corporate performances throughout Australia and Singapore. She has also made appearances in television commercials, music video clips and films in both countries. At LASALLE, Kristy has appeared in various ensemble roles in Nine, Siren and Sweet Charity. She also played The Mother in Blood Wedding, Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Heidi Holland in The Heidi Chronicles and Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Upon graduation, Kristy looks forward to more performing opportunities in Singapore, and eventually working in the UK and Australia as both a performer and choreographer.
Leanne Ansell

Leanne’s passion for performing began when she saw her first ballet, Coppélia, at age six. Leanne trained in classical ballet (Advanced 1 RAD), contemporary, jazz and tap; and also plays saxophone, clarinet and guitar. In 2004 Leanne completed the Young Actors Studio at NIDA in Sydney where she played the lead role of Arturo Ui in a production of Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui. Leanne has also performed on the international stage as the lead vocalist in the Wild West and Saloon Show at Leo Foo Amusement Park in Taiwan. Before coming to LASALLE, Leanne fulfilled a sixteen-month contract with Universal Studios Japan, as the lead female role, the Bride of Frankenstein, in the Universal Monsters Live Show, and the lead female vocalist for the Fantastic World international press conference in Tokyo. Leanne is 23 and from Sydney, Australia. After LASALLE, Leanne will be performing as a lead in Singapore’s first production of the musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at the Drama Centre in June. Afterwards she will be traveling to New York and London.
Matilda Chua

Matilda is 22 years old and Singaporean by birth. She has spent most of her life overseas, first in Burma and then New Zealand, where she took part in her first musical, The Wizard of Oz at the age of 14, whilst studying at Macleans College. She later went on to do Bye Bye Birdie and Olwen Wymark’s Find Me, in which she played one of the Veritys. However, it wasn’t until moving back to Singapore in 2007, that she had her first singing lesson. She was most recently involved in the LASALLE productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, both directed by Darren Yap; and The Heidi Chronicles directed by Tracie Pang. In addition to performing, Matilda enjoys writing and playing the piano and guitar. Upon graduation, she plans to stay in Singapore to pursue both a stage and film career, with the hope of performing internationally in the future.
Rachel Marley

Rachel Marley made her professional stage debut at the age of nine in the Sydney season of The Sound of Music as Marta Von Trapp (1999, Gordon Frost Organisation). One year later she went on to play the title role of Annie in the musical Annie (2000), for which she received the Variety Heart Young Entertainer of the Year Award. In 2001 she featured as Fanny in the musical version of The Magic Faraway Tree (Garry Ginivan Attractions). She later received a vocal scholarship to study at St Vincent’s College, Sydney. Rachel graduated from there in 2007 and was recognised as one of the highest achievers in the state for her HSC Music Extension performance by the NSW Board of Studies. In her time at LASALLE, Rachel has been featured in shows such as Nine, Blood Wedding, Siren, Sweet Charity, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Heidi Chronicles and Thoroughly Modern Millie. After LASALLE, Rachel intends on staying in Singapore for some time and then one day hopes to continue her career in London.
Simon Thompson

Born and raised in Kondinin, a small farming community east of Perth, Western Australia, Simon knew from a young age his love for singing and performing at different country fairs and festivals. Since then Simon has completed his Certificate II in Musical Theatre at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. His performances in Perth include O What a Lovely War as the General, Class of 77 as Sven, Guys and Dolls and Working. At LASALLE, he has performed in several musical productions including Siren, a cabaret created and directed by Kaye Tuckerman; Sweet Charity, directed by Shaun Murphy; Thoroughly Modern Millie, directed by Darren Yap; and the play Blood Wedding where he played the role of Leonardo for Stefanos Rassios. After graduating, Simon plans to travel the world wherever the passion for performing may take him.

Tom is 23 years old and was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. His passion for musical theatre began at high school where he portrayed the roles of The Baker in Into the Woods, Tony in West Side Story, Marius in Les Miserables and appeared in Shire Music Theatre’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar as Peter in consecutive years. At the age of 15, Tom began vocal training with Patricia Oertel. After moving to the USA for seven months with Carnival Cruise Lines, he shipped himself to Singapore to study at LASALLE College of the Arts. Tom has recently appeared as Trevor Graydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie , Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Peter Patrone in The Heidi Chronicles. Tom plans to stay and work in Singapore after he graduates, before heading for further dance training in New York.
